Reality Star Defended by PETA

With her boobs pumped up, and her vacant eyes ready to pose sexy, Kim Kardashian held a kitten up by the scruff of its neck for a picture that she later posted on Twitter. Aside from seeing the kitten is unhappy and Kim seems about as invested in the kitten’s feelings as she is about breakfast cereal (talk about not making a connection with your fellow model, Tyra Banks would spank you) but most people know that people cannot pick up kittens in that way, even though mother cats do that.

When I saw this picture, I was horrified. But because they are endorsed by the Kardashians, PETA was quick to respondvia X17online with this: “Kim Kardashian isn’t the only person who mistakenly thinks that because a mother cat picks up her kittens by the scruff of the neck that a supportive hand under the rump isn’t needed.” Which leads me to ask, who was on set for this photoshoot, in charge of the kitten? Whoever was there wasn’t doing their job in advocating that the kitten(s) be taken care of.

What’s really disheartening is that the comments on this  Twitpic include two different extremes: either Kim hates animals (I doubt she hates animals) or she shouldn’t care because her boobs look hot and really, that’s all that matters.
