Why we should all worry about Khloe Kardashian’s memory problem

On the most recent episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians, viewers saw that Khloe Kardashian sought help for her bad memory.
After being mocked by her family for years about her bad memory, Khloe started getting worried. She visited a doctor who told her that dementia and depression are linked. This sent her to a hypnotherapist.
The outcome is that Khloe learned that when she was 13, she started repressing things. This was likely because she was in a bad car crash and her parents were also fighting over the OJ Simpson and Nicole Simpson case.
The hypnotherapist said that Khloe hadn’t lost her memories, but had stopped being present in the moment. It seems there was a problem between Khloe storing the memory and being able to retrieve it. And she’s going to continue on with hypnotherapy to try and recall more. (I would encourage you to read the Psychology Today article: Does Hypnosis Improve Memory?)
Though this is a deeply personal matter for Khloe, it does bring awareness to a little-known subject matter that affects those with depression. Depression has frequently been associated with memory loss problems. Be vigilant if you feel this may be affecting you or someone you care about.
