The Kate Gosselin Album: Future Christmas Cheer or Predictable Scam?
| July 5, 2010 at 10:58 AM EDTWe know what your Grandma wants for Christmas next year: the Kate Plus Eight holiday album! It’s not a reality yet, but chances are decent that something like this could see shelves this Christmas.
For their 6th birthday, we’re sure Kate Gosselin sang to her boys. PH: TLC
Since dancing is out of the question, reality TV star Kate Gosselin is reportedly moving on to singing. But will she do any better in that arena?
If you watch Dancing with the Stars, you know that Gosselin wasn’t very confident with her moves (or lack thereof). But apparently she’s more confident about her voice. And it’s easy to be confident when there’s autotune. Just saying.
“Kate is pitching a CD of holiday classics sung by herself and all her children,” an unnamed record executive told PopEater. “She sees herself as a modern-day Maria from The Sound of Music, except this time the family singers won’t be the Von Trapp family, they would be the Gosselins.”
Why is Kate going after more and more? Isn’t a reality TV star, mother, dancer, and author enough without adding “singer” to the resume? Nope. “Don’t be fooled,” a friend told the site. “Kate sees herself as a brand. She knows her fifteen minutes are not going to last forever and wants to make the most of it. After all, it’s Kate that’s putting the food on the table for all those children.”
A surefire way to get people to care about this album would be for Kate Gosselin to pair up with fellow reality TV star from Jersey Shore, Mike “The Situation”, who also wants to release an album.
Kate Plus Eight returns Sunday, July 11, at 9 pm ET on TLC.
