As we actually predicted earlier, it was really Kacie Boguskie’s family that made Ben Flajnik change his mind about marrying her. Which is a pretty big bummer for her. And not entirely cool of Ben.

Kacie B. turned up in Switzerland to warn Ben about Courtney. But that wasn’t what she had gone there to say.

After turning her down, Ben was surprised to see Kacie Boguskie at his door. She was flustered and nervous, while he was shocked. “My heart’s racing,” he said.

“I’m a hot mess,” she said. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to shock you. …I have come here because I feel like when I left, I was in such shock I didn’t know what to say. I left and I couldn’t even think. Even at home… You’ve had your heart broken before, and I’m sure you’ve wanted answers. I wanted to see if you’d tell me what happened. … I was so confident in what we had. I didn’t see that coming at all. And it’s hard for me to get that out of my mind.”

“I think for me, it kind of felt like we were worlds apart, almost. In where we come from. … Different backgrounds. For me, in all fairness to you and your family. I don’t think I could have given you all of the things that you needed from me. …And so I can completely understand where you’re coming from. …You didn’t do anything wrong. It’s just, did I see you in the end. No. The last thing I wanted to do was drag it out even longer for you. … I want nothing but the best for you.”

“It’s almost like I wish I could have talked to you after my hometown date… ” She said the stuff about where she’d live were decisions she would make on her own. She also said what makes her parents happy doesn’t always make her happy. She finished with, “It’s nice to have answers but it doesn’t make it any better.”

“I’m sorry.”

“You know what… because I do love you, and I do care about you. I don’t want to see you get your heart broken again. And I feel like, and I don’t know what’s happened… I feel like if you were to choose Courtney you would get your heart broken.”

“Any reasons why? I’d love to hear them.”

“I watched her for a while… it seems like she’s in this to win it. And she has made comments like ‘If it’s not Ben there are other fish in the sea.'”

Ben stayed silent, clearly hurt. They said goodbye, and she laid down on the floor of the hotel hallway, just as heartbroken as before.

Interestingly, Chris asked Ben if he wanted Kacie back in the rose ceremony. Ben declined.
