Julie Zorrilla on AMERICAN IDOL: Style and Voice = Winner

Ever wonder what Lea Michele would look like as a Colombian? Well, take a gander at Julie Zorrilla.  This lovely lady made a big impression on American Idol during her audition in San Fransisco. She lived in Columbia until she was 8 years old.  Her parents fled in the  90’s because of violence.

She sang “Summertime” for her audition.

She impressed all three judges with her voice, and more. Both Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez liked her outfit. It was a 50’s inspired strapless, full-skirted dress with a bow on the back. Her shoes were so great that Jennifer Lopez complimented them.

Want some background on Zorrilla? She has been studying classical piano since the age of five years old. The first song she wrote was in Spanish. She attended the Idyllwild Arts Academy as a teen, realizing her first demo at the young age of 15. Now we hear reports she’s definitely in the top 40 for American Idol!
