Jessica Simpson Hates those Darn, Clean, Slippery Teeth

If you want info about Jessica Simpson on Ellen today, I’ve got it! Jessica Simpson was wearing in a textured white sundress which, I just have to say, made her breasts look so huge I worried she’d topple over while walking to her chair. She was there to talk about The Price of Beauty. Jessica Simpson was recently on the cover of Marie Claire without makeup or retouching, so Ellen showed that cover (which I’m sure most everyone has already seen). Ellen brought up dating and Jessica said, “I’m single. But I’m out mingling around.” Aside from dating, they also chatted about what Jessica has learned while doing her show, why the press hate on her, and her dental hygiene. The interview ended with Ellen giving Jessica a basket of Ellen Floss, because floss has gotten so expensive.

The interview didn’t reveal too much about Simpson’s dating life, and she seemed surprisingly well-spoken and confident when discussing her show and when Ellen showed the infamous high-waisted jeans picture that started this whole “Jessica Simpson is fat”. I wonder if Simpson was coached a bit on what to say, because it was truly …almost inspiring. It did seem heartfelt (whether coached or not, this is what I believe she feels). Simpson said that it wasn’t herself she was defending so much as that when people called her picture fat, she didn’t like where that put her and how it would make other girls who were larger, feel. She phrased it slightly more eloquently, but transcribing is hard work when you are watching it live without a DVR!

Fattening Huts?

Ellen: “What was the most surprising thing you learned?”
Jessica: “We went to Uganda, and in Uganda we went into this … village, and the fatter you are the more beautiful you are. So the bride gets to go and be in a fattening hut for two months. They gain like 90 lbs…Their prized possession is a cow so they want their women to look like cows. It’s really a compliment to say ‘You are a fat cow!'”

The Dating Life

On how the press are hard on her…
Jessica: “I think because they always wanna try and take me down. But I’m kinda invincible.”

Ellen: “It must be hard to trust a guy. Do you wanna date someone out of the business now”
Jessica: “Um. They definitely have to understand my life and what I put up with and what I deal with. Being scrutinized publicly, they can definitely make or break a relationship, and you have to have that strong foundation so I have to have somebody that understands that kind of lifestyle.”

To Brush or Not to Brush

Ellen: “You don’t brush your teeth?”
Jessica: “Not all the time. Maybe 3 times a week. Because my teeth are so white and I don’t like them to feel to slippery, but I do use Listerine and I do floss everyday. But I don’t brush them everyday. I’ll use a shirt or something.”

Jessica: “I know it’s gross, but I always have fresh breath. It’s really weird but I have great breath.”

Jessica: “My lips just slide all over the place.
Ellen: “So you need a little..coating?”
