JENNIFER HUDSON Grammys 2012 Whitney Houston Tribute
| February 13, 2012 at 3:46 AM ESTJennifer Hudson performed a somber tribute to the late Whitney Houston at the 2012 Grammys.
Chaka Khan was initially set to join Hudson in this tribute, but Khan decided that “I’m Every Woman” wasn’t the appropriate song to honor Houston.
“I Will Always Love You” was the classic song that 30-year-old Hudson performed. A photograph of a joyful, singing Houston was projected above Hudson, making it all that much more emotional. The end of the song had Hudson singing, “Whitney, we love, we love you.”
Before this tribute, the In Memorian segment aired, which paid homage to the talents of those like Amy Winehouse, Clarence Clemons and Steve Jobs.
