Listen, if you’ve seen the episode then you already know. If you haven’t, then you should prepare. And if you have no clue what I’m talking about…just keep reading, I guess. Or eat some ice cream. I feel like today is a good day for ice cream.

It’s no secret to fans that ‘How I Met Your Mother’ in this, the final season, has been kind of a crap shoot.  So when a good episode comes along, we try to make that ride last forever. But nothing is worse than having the last few minutes or seconds of the best roller coaster ride of your life end in what feels like disaster. A big, ugly, cheesy disaster that leaves you laughing awkwardly.

The first sign that the night was going badly was in the final few minutes of “Sunrise”, when we saw Ted word vomiting all over Robin about his FEELINGS, for the millioneth time. Even though she was getting married ON THAT DAY.

“I’m getting married in a few hours, but please, confess your undying love to me one last time. It’s totally cool. It won’t make me feel guilty or mess with my mind at all. In fact, why don’t more ex-boyfriends do this?” This is not what she said. But she should have.

In the last moments of the episode, Ted and Robin are holding hands like that one famous painting with the fingers touching

you know the one. Don’t make me Google it. (Creation of Adam in the Sistene Chapel, I only had to Google to confirm what I thought. Whew.) ANYWAY. When they decide to officially let go, it was such a grand symbolism that they had Robin FLOAT AWAY like the Balloon Ted had as a kid, who was his best friend.

SHE IS ABOUT TO BE FLOATING. GET READY.

Cobie Smulders floated away into the sky like some horrible joke.

After this happened, Twitter blew up asking if the entire thing had been a dream. (That would have been better, because Ted is such a jerk to confess love to his engaged best friend’s future wife.)

But, it wasn’t a dream. In Ted’s mind, Robin floated away like a balloon.

SEE HER FEET LEAVING THE GROUND?

UGH. COME ON.

There’s very few episodes of ‘How I Met Your Mother’ left, so we have to “bear down” (‘Community’ fans will get that) and enjoy the ride.
