I applaud CBS for trying something new with “Harper’s Island” and I sincerely hope they decide to make another go at it with a different cast/plot/location because I think effort #2 would be much improved.
That being said, I didn’t love the ending of “Harper’s Island.” I dig the Henry-as-Wakefield’s-son-and-accomplice thing. I mean, we’ve all seen this coming for like 5 episodes now and it was just a matter of which person it was.
However, the last 30 minutes of the final episode just did not jive with the rest of the show. It slowed down, it wasn’t scary enough and it felt anticlimactic to me.
The plot aside, I thought the actors and actresses did an excellent job with these two episodes. Katie Cassidy, Elaine Cassidy and especially Christopher Gorham were just excellent. Gorham took a weird plot and some bad writing and gave it 110% effort, so good for him.
