Rate the Glee Funk songs
| June 3, 2010 at 8:16 AM EDTSo, Glee “Funk” aired earlier this week and if you’re already read my Glee Funk review, it’s time to talk about the “Funk” Songs. I had a definite favorite in that Beck cover of “Loser.” Is it too soon to re-live them all?
‘Funk’ Song List in order of my favorites – #1 being the best:
1. Terri, Punk, Finn, and Sandy “Loser” (Beck)
This is the only piece I can’t find a video of! Ironically, it’s also my favorite vocal and dance sequence. I thought it was very well done. Part of the greatness was seeing the bromance between Puck and Finn return. EDIT: I found it, I posted it down below.
2. New Directions, “Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof off the Sucker)” (Parliament)
It’s so fun it puts me in a good mood, the mood of a New Directions champion! I love how proud Rachel was able to be, even though Vocal Adrenaline and Jesse were trying to make her doubt herself. Brazen escalation seems to be a trend everywhere these days, and no one should stand for it. We’ve got the funk. Turn this mutha ooout!
3. Puck, Finn, and Mercedes, “Good Vibrations” (Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch)
It may not be actual funk, but it sure is fun to sing.
4. Quinn “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” (James Brown)
Something about this is weird to watch, with the obviously not pregnant girls in the background all wearing fake baby bellies (I don’t think they could move like that with actual preggo bellies!) I like the vocals a lot, though. Dianna Agron has a nice voice.
5. Jesse and Vocal Adrenaline, “Another One Bites the Dust” (Queen)
Granted, I think the blue dresses/rompers the females wore were totally ridiculous, but it was a fun performance. This song always reminds me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
6. Will, “Tell Me Something Good” (Rufus)
It’s creepy to see Will seduce Sue, but the vocals are growing on me.

So what do you think? What order would you rank them?
