You’d have to be living under several rocks to not know about the Footloose reboot that has been made (it’s not released yet) starring Julianne Hough (Dancing with the Stars), Kenny Wormald, Miles Teller and Ziah Colon.

I will definietly be seeing this movie – but probably via Netflix. I mean, what are the chances that this could ever live up to the original? It’s kind of sacrilegious that they’re even trying. Nonetheless, this movie is getting a lot of hype. And it occurs to me that it might be a decent movie. So, be prepared to not entirely hate it. I know it goes against every fiber of your being, I know. Just try.

New Footloose Movie Plot: Ren MacCormack is transplanted from Boston to the small southern town of Bomont where he experiences a heavy dose of culture shock. A few years prior, the community was rocked by a tragic accident that killed five teenagers after a night out and Bomont’s local councilmen and the beloved Reverend Shaw Moore responded by implementing ordinances that prohibit loud music and dancing. Not one to bow to the status quo, Ren challenges the ban, revitalizing the town and falling in love with the minister’s troubled daughter Ariel in the process.

To celebrate Footloose 2.0, HSN.com has climbed on board to sell you some shi—stuff. Check the website on October 7th to see what you can buy. There will also be sneakers, Footloose jewelry, shoes, beauty products, accessories and jeanswear.

I’m a bit baffled at the way HSN is taking total control of Footloose, letting their site be a platform to sell you everything from the soundtrack to the clothing worn in the film. It’s not often you see cross-promotion getting so intense. But, it’s a smart idea. Julianne Hough has a lot of fans who will want to steal her on-screen looks, and people dig that Country Strong style they saw on Gwyneth Paltrow and Leighton Meester. Except lots of lacey skirts with cowboy boots and denim vests.

Footloose Merchandise and Red Boots

Keds is involved, unveiling both classic and modern looks for Footloose. (From flannel high tops with ribbon laces to solid mid-top sneakers.)

Levi is involved, highlighting their Curve ID Jeans line, especially the boot cut jeans.

La Victoire for HSN Leather Studded High Tops will go for a little under $200.00.

There are plenty of red boots you’ll be able to buy, from Steve Madden, Twiggy London, Vince Camuto, Matt Berson. The boots worn by Ariel in the movie are red boots by Frye. With the pictures upon pictures of different boots that HSN will be selling, I didn’t see the red Frye boots for sale. I’m wondering if they’ll be able to sell the actual same pair of boots worn in the movie or if Frye wouldn’t agree to that. That’d be…well, hilarious. Boots inspired by Footloose are well and good, but a teenager wants what she saw in the movie, not some random boot.

So what about the actual boots that Julianne Hough wears? They are SOLD OUT on Zappos but AVAILABLE at Allens Boots. They are the Womens Frye Carson Pull On Boots Burnt Red – almost $400.00. Find them here.

In the movie you’ll see Converse by John Varvatos Jack Purcells and black leather boots from Aldo.

Because you want to dance comfortably, HSN recommends FootPetals, which now have Poron Performance technology. There are going to be Foot Petals in Tip Toes and Killer Kushionz – available in black bandana print, solid black, buttercup, or buttercup print.

Footloose Makeup and Beauty

Makeup that might not be in the movie, but that HSN is promoting: Benefit in Cha Cha Tint, Bad Gal Lash Mascara, Benefit Cosmetics Powder Pop Full Face Color Collection, Benefit Velvet Eyeshadow in Fawn Over Me

There will be Deborah Lippman Footlose nail polish ($32.00 for a set of two) for polishes named after the songs:

  1. Electric Blue – Dancing in the Streeets
  2. Baby Blue – Let’s Hear it for the Boy
  3. Candy Red – Footloose
  4. Pale Green – Almost Paradise

The New Footloose Soundtrack

Julianne Hough loves the new Footloose soundtrack, and she is especially a fan of “Holding Out for a Hero” covered by Ella Mae Bowen,
