Emmys 2012 – Honoring style on The Walking Dead, Glee, Once Upon a Time, Mad Men and more
| September 23, 2012 at 10:10 PM EDTHere is a list of the 2012 Emmy nominated costume designers and hair stylists and makeup teams with some commentary. Because just mentioning them isn’t enough in my book.
If you’re on the list, reach out to us for interview opportunities! (I don’t watch a few of these shows so I cannot comment on them all.)
COSTUMES FOR A SERIES
“Boardwalk Empire,” John Dunn, Lisa Padovani & Maria Zamansky
“The Borgias,” Gabriella Pescucci & Uliva Pizzetti
“Downton Abbey,” Susannah Buxton – The amount of times I’ve covered Downton Abbey style and jewelry here and on ShesSmart.com and RingOBlog.com should tell you how much I love what Susannah Buxton has done.
WINNER “Game of Thrones,” Michele Clapton, Alexander Fordham & Chloe Aubry – So well done.
“Once Upon a Time,” Eduardo Castro & Monique McRae – No matter when I sometimes worry certain things about the show might b e going in the wrong direction (which is rare) I am always blown away by the clothing. I love the modern day stuff like Emma’s red jacket and swan jewelry just as much as I love the elaborate ball gowns on Cinderella and Snow White. Taking over fairy tales and re-doing these items is a tough task. And they do it so well.
