Ellen Degeneres is the new "American Idol" judge
FOX has announced a replacement for departed “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul: ELLEN DEGENERES! I could not be happier, I love Ellen. My only concern is that she’ll be TOO funny all the time and not know when to be serious.
Ellen had this to say, “I’m thrilled to be the new judge on American Idol. I’ve watched since the beginning, and I’ve always been a huge fan. So getting this job is a dream come true, and think of all the money I’ll save from not having to text in my vote.”
Degeneres has previous judging experience, as she was a guest-judge on “So You Think You Can Dance” this past summer. I enjoyed her those two nights, particularly because Mia Michaels was also on the panel.
I don’t know how she’ll be, but I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt. I’m very excited that Ellen is taking over as an “American Idol” judge.

I questioned whether I would watch Idol without Paula… Now that they have replaced her with Ellen DeGeneres, I know I won’t watch. She is not a favorite of mine at all, and I really only watched Idol because of Paula and Simon’s banter. I just can’t believe they are putting Ellen on there… Ugh!!!! Wrong choice!!!

I like Ellen but this was totally the wrong choice. WHAT does she know about singing. I saw her when she judged I think you can dance and she cracked jokes. I do not think she will really have anything to add to the show. I do not think I will watch Idol anymore either.
