“Vogel was right, I am perfect. But only at one thing.” Oh, Dexter. Again with the killy kill? Well, at least there’s one less cannibal in Miami…
Quinn, be still my heart
I can’t believe it guys, but somehow…Quinn is worming his way into my heart. His concern for Deb is sweet, especially since she screwed him over so much last year when they were dating. But now she has no one else without Dexter. (Maybe she would have had Rita, if Rita wasn’t dead.) Anyway, don’t be surprised if you are warming up to Quinn again, they’re making him pretty likeable. But do you think he’s the one who is going to uncover Dexter’s secret and out Deb for LaGuerta’s murder? He seems suspicious.
Vogel is unreal!
So, Vogel starts talking about how Dexter should want to kill Deb for knowing his secret, and how is that not making us all super suspicious of her?! She’s so cold and clinical, it’s gotta be more than just a healthy scholastic interest in psychopaths, right? I do really love how Vogel keeps pointing out that Dexter isn’t a true psychopath (something the show has probably been wringing its hands over every season, afraid they were making him too nice and normal.) Maybe there’s hope for Dexter, and truly, maybe he could change? …But, no, the show would never do that. So what’s the end game? Who knows. I can’t believe this is the last season, though. I’m not at all ready to say goodbye to Deb!
Mmm, Mmm, Good!
The opening scene with Harrison and the red Popsicles was great, especially as a mislead. But it also reminded me that, hey, Harrison is around. I forget about him a lot. They aren’t doing much with him.
The Cannibal Galutso
I am glad that Dexter still gets bothered sometimes, like when he saw the finger floating in the stew… because, ew. Cannibalism is very “in” right now. Haha. But you know I just mean because it’s featured on NBC’s Hannibal, right? And it’s not a true trend unless it’s at least one more place. I just feel like even one mention of cannibalism per year is basically too much. Again, I’m gonna have to pull out my “ew” card.
Jennifer Carpenter gets an A+
Her acting, man. So good. She plays drunk so well. And her scene with Quinn, during her confession… it was just so powerful. Do I smell an Emmy?
Did Deb realize that confessing implicated Dexter, too? She should have warned him what she was doing, maybe. So he could say goodbye to his kid.
