He’s a serial killer. If caught and convicted, they’d likely put him in a hole so dark he’d need to be Harry Houdini to escape.

I agree. Not the first time a preview has shown something bad happening (Dex stabbing Masuka through the neck, anyone?). I’m taking the side that it’s a bad dream. LaGuerta really has no solid proof. Will she risk her job with flimsy evidence? Sure, the last guy was a setup. But nothing happened. Still no evidence. Will they take the word of a convicted killer over one of their own? Doubtful. Pretty certain that if it’s not a dream/fantasy, LaGuerta will take a fall for a bad decision, and Debra will become chief. If you think about it, the show has sort have focused on Debra’s rise to power. The only way I see LaGuerta dying is if she withdraws the deal she made with the man who ordered the death of Dex’s mom. Then, it’ll be him that kills her. Or maybe she commits suicide because she wants answers from Doakes.

That’s just silly.

Do you honestly believe that Dexter had more emotions for Hannah more than he
cares about the safety of Harrison or Deb, since a now deeply betrayed Hannah
may get out of custody some day? Everyone knows how lethal Hannah is … And recall what happened to Rita when
Dexter did not effectively tie up the Trinity loose ends himself? Either he leaves Hannah peacefully alone
or he kills her, but no one in their right mind betrays Hannah. Sure, “free thinking”character development can happen
in the Show, but make it logical and credible, please.

the writers are simply showing the audience how Dexter has “more on his plate” than just the code. The code, much like many things in real life, work flawlessly until you introduce human emotion and “free thinking” into the mix. He’s not stupid, he just has MORE than the code to think about i.e. his family and his future

if you watched season 2, then there is ABSOLUTELY NO POSSIBLE WAY that doakes is alive, even if they didn’t follow through with the identification of his body as some people have stated, you WATCH HIM escape the cage in the cabin after lila turns on the stove and gas, it cuts to her driving off with an axe in the door handles. and he thinks to turn off the stove, he runs over there and it blows up before he could get to it. The force alone from this explosion would compress every organ in his body killing him instantly. Let alone the fact of extreme immediate heat which would essentially mutilate his entire body. Givin the preview of the finale, and how Doakes says surprise in different clothing and in the station, which is making everyone think he is alive…, he is completely normal looking. So even if the writers “made” him alive, one could expect even the slightest bit of burn scarring somewhere!? therefore, unless the writers have completely lost all ability to stick to original story line just to get a rise out of the audience, doakes will more than likely be a “dark passenger” like harry.

What about Estrada? The guy’s living, breathing evidence, Maria found the would-be murder weapon (possibly with Dex’s prints) and the kill room.

Personally, I think he will be arrested, but there’ll be some sting in the tail: i.e. Deb or Matthews manage to save him, the case will be thrown due to Maria taking short cuts and stealing evidence, or something entirely left field.

Who is that guy in Episode 11 and what has he done with the “real” (i.e., serial killer with a brain) Dexter? How could the real Dexter ever think that betraying Hannah to Deb that way could possibly turn out well? First, it’s easy to surmise that Deb put too many pills in her own water bottle, either on-purpose or by forgetting to change the water often enough, so Hannah is likely to be innocent of that crime in the first place. Second, how does the real Dexter imagine that (a profoundly betrayed)
Hannah is not going to tell Miami Metro everything she knows about Dexter’s recent kills (and planned kills)? Third,
let’s say Hannah gets out sooner or later – She will come after everyone Dexter cares about with a vengeance. The guy
in Episode 11 made the dumbest mistake possible at the end, which is not even remotely believable for the real Dexter to make. The real Dexter would have killed Hannah, no hesitation, before everturning her into Miami Metro. So I would ask the Show’s writers — Why should we continue to watch someone as stupid as this?

Dexter cleans up each and every crime scene, there is no real physical evidence linking him to any of his kills, I think the arrest preview could be Dexter dreaming or imagining himself being arrested.

Doakes is dead, there is no way he could be alive after forensics used the dental record to I.D his charred remains, doakes had no possible way to fake his death in season 2 and hide in the shadows for 5 seasons. My belief is LaGuerta only has dexter in cuffs under suspicion of being the Bay Harbour Butcher, Otherwise there would be no need for a season 8

basically deb framed hannah. laguerta was smart by setting dexter up. as for the season finale, it seems that Doakes is somehow alive, and he knew Dexter was the real bay harbor butcher. yes, any regular person wouldve dropped laguerta’s “hunch” but people were still being killed. in the season finale doake’s existence will be shown, and this explains why laguerta was unable to drop the case. dexter will have no option but to kill her, and doakes will come to the rescue. this was the only way for them to prove that dexter is a serial killer.
theory 2: most of the trailer we saw was a dream or a thought.

I still think it was deb .. She even said during the dialog with her and Hannah outside her home .. That she would do ANYTHING to make sure dexter was safe from her and she wouldn’t rest til she was brought to justice. The question is .. And we’ll probably never know the answer to .. Is 40% of whatever that drug is she’s taking enough to kill .. And if so, doesn’t Hannah usually prefer to kill her victims with some sort of plant based poison .. I could be wrong but I thought that was her MO.

They left too much to the imagination. I think next weeks episode is going to leave us dangling from a cliff. I’m sure the last scene will be the one with dexter walking away in cuffs. Which would mean that LaGuerta is alive for a season 8. Maybe season eight will be dexters confessions, and trial process? I doubt it but hey you never know, I never would have predicted any of this 3 seasons back.

Because they have a contract for a season 8. It’s been know since early season 6 that they are leading up to an ending through 7 and 8. But they are “open” to the “idea” of a nine.

I had the same theory re: the poisoned water. As for LaGuerta, I’m rooting for her to die next week; I’ve been saying she should die pretty much from the beginning of this season. I knew she was behind that guy’s release from the get-go.

I’m hoping Batista, if he MUST go, will just quietly retire. I don’t want him to die.

I think Nadia’s dead. After Quinn killed that guy last week, I knew Nadia was going to disappear.

I definitely think deb set up Hannah, she is too devoted to dexter to kill her, and like she said “I’ve never made a mistake.” Everyone she has had her sites on she has killed. Deb has a dark side to her and I feel like she would do anything, short of risking her life to see her behind bars. I do not think laGuerta is going to see the inside of a trash bag, I don’t see how dexter can get away with her murder. As far as Batista I think he will have a peaceful retirement, I’d like to see him do a few cameos where the dept goes to his restaurant and maybe he lends a helping hand in some advice for future cases. I think dexter turning in Ms. Hannah is a mistake, with all her information and knowledge on dexters “dark passenger” she seems like the type that to survive she will dime deb and him out in a heart beat, I didn’t like her from day 1. I think this is Quinn’s last season, either he will leave to persue Nadia, or somehow there is something lurking with the kashka brotherhood that will take his life, c’mon he did kill an important figure in the gang, that cannot go unnoticed.

In the promo for episode 12 it shows dexter arrested I hope that isn’t the end. Also it shows doakes. Hopefully its just a projection
