Tonight we learn the fundamentals of flight in a new episode of Community. Aside from Apollo 13, this has “Flight of the Navigator” jokes written all over it, meaning it’s a great time to re-watch that classic. (I always mix up that movie and “The Boy Who Could Fly.”)

At the San Diego Comic-Con 2010 Dan Harmon said even if you’ve never seen an episode of season 1 of Community, this is the episode you’ll still want to see for the Apollo 13 homage.

Community Season 2 Episode 4 “Basic Rocket Science” Dean Pelton (Jim Rash) decides that Greendale Community College must have its own flight simulator after finding out about City College’s. Jeff (Joel McHale), Pierce (Chevy Chase), Britta (Gillian Jacobs), Annie (Alison Brie), Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown) and Troy (Donald Glover) end up in a situation when the simulator is accidentally launched, leaving Abed (Danny Pudi) as the navigator to bring the group home safely.
