Sure, they may have sailed the high seas (of the parking lot) and been to outer space (in a KFC sponsored trailer) but they’ve been been animated before! And really, Christmas IS a time for claymation. So this is perfect.

A very special holiday episode of Community will air on NBC on December 9th, 2010.The episode is called Abed’s Uncontrollable Christmas.

Meanwhile, Jeff (Joel McHale) and Britta (Gillian Jacobs) become growingly concerned about Abed’s mental health and enlist the help of Professor Duncan (John Oliver). The group undergoes hypnosis to explore Abed’s winter wonderland and soon unravel the truth behind Abed’s madness. Chevy Chase, Yvette Nicole Brown, Donald Glover, and Ken Jeong also star. Trivia: Apparently there’s a Britta Bot! How cute is that? There’s also a Ballerannie and Teddypierce, a Troy Soldier and Topless Baby Shirley. The stop-animation had ten different sets and eight animators. It took over six weeks to create. Just one 30 second shot can take three days. So really make sure to appreciate the episode when it airs!
