Although Chord Overstreet is leaving Glee, it looks like you can just pop anyone in his place and it’ll work. Chord? Madonna has a few things she’d like you to learn about being irreplaceable!

"All this can be yours, but you can't be greedy."

The character of Sam was a good idea on paper, but as it played out in Glee season 2 it wasn’t as dramatic as you’d hope. He woo’d Quinn, helped cause a few relationship upsets, and made Finn feel bad about his body… but it wasn’t until the very end of the season where we saw him carving out a real place in our hearts (homeless, sweet, trouty mouthed and wooing Mercedes!). And then he up and leaves.

But Overstreet’s leaving isn’t really upsetting any storyline except for the one about Mercedes having a boyfriend. And you can stop holding your breath for him to come back because at the Glee Comic Con panel, Brad Falchuk confirmed that Overstreet is gone.

“We wanted him back because we like Chord personally and had some good stories planned for him and with Mercedes (Amber Riley),” Falchuk said. “He decided he would have opportunities elsewhere that he would like to pursue, and we can’t force him to work. We told him to go with God.”

Meanwhile, Falchuck alerted fans that Mercedes will have a new boyfriend that she met over the summer. So it looks like the one storyline that the character of Sam was going to ruin is being fixed easily. So, what do you think of that? Are you upset that Chord has chosen not to come back? Do you think Mercedes and Sam would have been fun to see?
