Cate and Baze Come to a Boil on Life Unexpected

It’s hard to pick a highlight from an episode of Life Unexpected that was so solid. I nestled down to watch “Truth Unrevealed” with no distractions but a Diet Coke and cherry strudel thingy (that’s the official name). I love when they mentioned Prison Break (since that show is aaaawesome), loved Baze on the radio, loved Ryan standing up for himself, loved mention of “turtle thing” from last week, the description of Baze’s coffee order, Cate and Lux’s hair in general, pie charts of Cate’s likability… everything! (The only thing I didn’t like was Cate’s blouse with puffy shoulders. And okay, Jones could be cuter for a love interest. But he wins major points with the locket thing.)
To pick ONE thing I would have to say the entire chemistry between Cate and Baze was my favorite. Especially when Cate came to his bar/apartment and they talk downstairs. Baze was so obviously into her that I almost forgot he was shirtless.
Next week is “Crisis Unaverted”: In the midst of feeling like Ryan and Cate are squeezing him out of Lux’s life, Baze earns the chance to compete against Ryan in a radio contest and is determined to win. Cate considers finally telling Ryan the full truth about Baze, but is afraid of the possible consequences. Meanwhile, when Tasha tells Lux that she may have to move to a new foster home several hours away, Lux tries to help Tasha track down her birth mother.

Love your post. I totally agree with you about Cate and Baze’s chemistry. I nearly died when he ran after her! Obviously he feels guilty because he felt the need to give her an explanation. Can’t wait to see more of them! Was sad that, though he was mentioned a few times, there was no Math in the episode. Hopefully next week!

Thanks for reading you guys! I know – I was sad about no Math when he was mentioned so much! Him and his turtle connection from last week was sweet – especially the Math/Lux bench scene. (Or was that earlier? Gah!) I like seeing the specific dynamics between Baze and his individual friends.

I absolutely love this show too!! I’m so excited every Monday to find out what will happen. Cate and Baze have amazing chemistry. Will be waiting for Season #2…
