The CALIFORNIA DREAMS Reunion was Depressing
Late Night with Jimmy Fallon has a CALIFORNIA DREAMS reunion on Thursday night. Initially I was excited about this. Because I remember the show fondly. However, …how do I put this. Well… Do you remember that WILL & GRACE episode where Jack runs into his old babysitter played by Demi Moore? And it was kind of sad and pathetic to realize that she’s STILL a babysitter? It kind of…it’s sad.
And for some of the people on the show, it made me sad for them. And it makes me understand why some of the people from SAVED BY THE BELL don’t want to do a reunion. I just…I never wanted to feel shame for these people, and for a couple of them – I did. It’s like ….washed up celebs in clown costumes at parties, trying to reclaim former glory.
They smiled. And I sighed.

I thought it was great. I loved that show and thought the Jimmy Fallon show was also great. It was very classy and showed a lot of pride for their old show! I loved it and I have a great respect for those actors and the wonderful times they gave me!!

Sorry for being a “hater”, guys. MOST of them looked like they were doing good (mostly the girls…). I felt bad for the couple of guys who looked like they didn’t want to be there, and who were still trying to act with little to no success. It makes me sad for them.

I had no problem going on the Fallon show. It was fun. That’s why we did it. The majority of us went because we were given the opportunity to see each other in the same room again. And that alone was worth the trip. Being that I live in Australia, that is a rare and welcomed opportunity. Had they invited us out just for a meeting NOT on television, I am fairly certain that we all still would have showed up.
So hate all you like Jessica. I’m sorry… Who are you? Were you on a competing show? You have made a contribution to world entertainment in some form or fashion?
Look. I could care less. If you were fan, I still love you and I am deeply sorry that the reunion made you feel shame. For it made me feel quite the opposite…
Cheers.

I’m pretty sure you’re not Jay Anthony Franke, but I’ll write as if you are. Because maybe you are.
I’m not sure what you’ve been doing, but if you are trying to have a career as an actor your IMDB indicates you’ve done three acting projects since 1997. Just three. Since 1997. And none that I’ve heard of.
So while it’s great for you to meet up with your friends, I think it would have been better to do it off camera. Or did you guys get paid for your appearance?

The reunion rocked. The only sad thing is that it made my day!!

Write back as if I am the frickin’ Pope for all I care…
Everything I have done since ‘97, I have done either as a favor for someone or because I wanted to. I stopped Auditioning in ‘96 and moved on from acting. By choice. Any acting I do now is for fun.
Again, Look. I could care less. If you were a fan, I still love you and I am deeply sorry that the reunion made you feel shame. For it made me feel quite the opposite…
Cheers.

Jay – Hey, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have been so snarky. But I had assumed it wasn’t you, just someone trying to cause trouble. But your comments aren’t trouble-starters. So now I am eating shoe, or whatever that phrase is. I see you’re actually writing from Australia. I’m glad you got to see the rest of your castmates. I truly did love that show growing up, and it was a fun thing to watch every Saturday. I wish you the best of luck in whatever you do next, whether it’s on IMDB or not. I hope you can accept my apology.

I loved it and it made me happy seeing them again, so the fans who still like them got to see them now and was happy they sang.

The funny thing is, if you’re in your 30’s like I am, for the most part they all still looked hot…because we’re aging right along with them.
It makes me happy to have Fallon pull of stuff like this because as you all know, adult life isn’t a ‘dream’ for everyone…and its nice to reminisce and remember a time when things were new and full of hope and promise. Thanks, Dreams for coming on the show.
