Spy Tools – What you need to be a spy

When spies get fired, they don’t get a letter from human resources. They get burned. In “Burn Notice,” Jeffrey Donovan stars as Michael Westen, a blacklisted spy. Consumed by the desire to find out who burned him, and why, Westen is reluctantly drawn into working as an unlicensed private investigator and problem solver for ordinary citizens to fund his personal investigation into his situation as a blacklisted agent.

In celebration off the June 11 home entertainment release of “Burn Notice: Season Six” (Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment), we have compiled a few must-have gadgets for the up-and-coming spy in you. Whether you have been blacklisted or are just curious about becoming a part-time spy, you should try to get your hand on these gadgets!

Glasses
We recommend Google Glass if you can get them but if not, you can spy happily with glasses that have a built in camera. (Editor’s note: Sunglasses are your best weapon.)

Black outfit
The best way to fit in to any occasion is to wear clothes that go with anything. What’s better than an assortment of black clothing? From goth to biker to regular Joe on the street, no one will give you a second glance in any of these outfits. (Editor’s note: Dress to blend in. This might not always be black.)

Swiss Army Knife
It has everything you need. Seriously, look at it! We can’t even begin to name everything it contains, which means you’ll find it useful on your missions in some way shape or form.

Cell Phone
You’re going to need the ability to look up an address quickly or play games during your down time. No matter what kind of mission you’re involved in, take a phone with you. Odds are, you’ll be calling a friend. After all spying is no fun without back up! (Editor’s note: an iPhone is probably your best bet.)

A Good Cover, Quick Reflexes, and an Ability to Lie
Odds are you’ll be somewhere you aren’t suppose to be. Hone your acting chops and lying skills so you can tell people that you’re just visiting your Aunt Mary, or you have a flat tire.
