Director John Hughes, dead at 59

Director John Hughes passed away today at age 59. It isn’t very TV-related, but I just had to post about it. Hughes suffered a heart attack this morning while taking a walk in New York and passed away shortly thereafter.

This makes me sadder than Farrah Fawcett, Billy Mays or Michael Jackson’s deaths. I grew up on John Hughes movies. Weird Science, The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Great Outdoors, Uncle Buck, Home Alone, Planes Trains and Automobiles… all classics.
