Borscht, one of the "Big Brother" food choices

Tonight on “Big Brother” there was another America’s Vote food choice for the Have Nots. You can vote via texting or on the CBS website. The choices tonight were 1) Squash and Squid, 2) Brussel Sprouts and Borscht and 2) Liverwurst and Black Licorice.

For those of you who don’t know, Borscht (pictured right) is a traditional Eastern European/Russian soup that can be served either hot or cold and is made from beetroot. It can also include potatoes, beans, cabbage, carrots, cucumber, onion, tomatoes and a meat of some kind, either beef, pork or chicken. It’s actually quite good and since I happen to enjoy brussel sprouts sauteed in butter, I think that would be my choice if I were to pick one of them.

What wouldn’t be my choice? Liverwurst and black licorice. I actually like black licorice in moderation, but an entire week of nothing but that and liverwurst? Gag me with a spoon.
