There are a lot of supernatural forms of drama heading towards Aidan, Josh and Sally on the SyFy hit, Being Human. But even with all that madness, the show will still focus on the relationships between the roommates.

When I talked to show creators, Anna Fricke and Jeremy Carver, I told them that while I enjoyed all the big crazy supernatural stuff, my favorite bits are always just the roommates at home or at work. I love a good bromance, and like I told Fricke and Carver, Aidan (Sam Witwer) and Josh (Sam Huntington) have a bromance that I think is very much like that of Ryan Atwood and Seth Cohen from The OC. This may be because I’ve been rewatching that show and can’t get the theme song out of my head. But they agreed and said that the bromance and “normal” relationships on the show are their favorite parts as well. Carver said that “the three of them in that house is… our true north.” When it comes down to it, no matter what they are dealing with, they always have each other.

Fricke made an excellent point about what sets Being Human apart from every other supernatural show. “Our monsters are trying to not get enmeshed with the other monsters… They are trying to be human. Trying to have normal relationships. Trying to have normal lives.” As the title suggests, these characters want to ignore the fact that they are monsters and just live the most normal life they possibly can. Of course that whole “being a monster” thing tends to get in the way.

And what of the one “normal” member of this group, Nora (Kristen Hager)? Well, besides the fact that maybe she isn’t so normal anymore now that Josh scratched her while he was a werewolf, she will be coming into her own quite a bit this season. She heads down a path that Carver says is “dangerous and exciting” as well as may other thrilling adjectives! I can’t wait because Nora is one of my favorite parts and I can’t wait to see her get tangled into the mix a little more. And hey – if she does become a werewolf that would mean she could finally see Sally (Meaghan Rath), right? It’s about time Sally gets a friend that’s a girl!
