American Idol needs Casey Abrams to bring on the Melodica
| February 3, 2011 at 9:25 AM ESTAmerican Idol ended last night’s Austin auditions with a strong performance by Casey Abrams, who sang Ray Charles’ “I Don’t Need No Doctor.”

Abrams is a 19-year-old from Idyllwild, California. He had a silly, relaxed sense of humor about him and said that people think he looks like Seth Rogen. He stayed busy by playing his Melodica. But despite this silliness, when it was time to be judged Abrams got down to the business of being awesome. The judges voted him through, then danced with him. Sounds like a pretty good audition. Do you think we’ll see him in the top ten?
What is a Melodica? It’s described as a key flute. You blow into it as you play on the keyboard.
