| January 30, 2014 at 12:05 AM ESTThere are a lot of FEELS to have about this finale. Saddle up with your beverage of choice, and join our support group as we recap what went down in this final episode of ‘Coven.’
‘American Horror Story: Coven’ Season 3, Episode 13 “The Seven Wonders” TV Recap
1. RIP Misty Day. I adored Misty, and her death does not sit well with me. I really wanted her to be a survivor. I will say, though, that I suspected her hell was going to be worse than some of the other girls.’ But then I had to realize that even Madison’s version of hell must have been the ultimate for her, factoring in what a shallow person she is. And with all of that said, I’ll say that I still think Misty’s hell was the worst.
2. Who is the Supreme? Cordelia. Meaning none of the others were. Queenie and Zoe ultimately ended up as the lone survivors. Madison was revealed not to be the supreme, and then she was choked to death by an angry Kyle. Nan was never resurrected. Misty disintegrated to ash when she couldn’t get out of hell. Even Myrtle ended up burned at the stake – again. (Voluntarily, in a resplendent red dress and blaze of…actual glory.)
2A. Did Myrtle really need to sacrifice herself? Ugh. I mean. I get everything she had for reasons, but couldn’t she also have just run away and Cordelia could say she didn’t know where she was? Myrtle could have lived the rest of her life in peace, on an island in Belize or something.

2B. Something that really, really, DFASKFJAEW really, bothers me? Laveau had sensed such strong power from Zoe in one of the Halloween episodes…and nothing else came from that. We never learned why she was special in any way. I wonder if she really failed transmutation or if she was sabotaged. If she hadn’t, could have have also still been The Supreme? That seems a little blurry. Technically she knew how to perform transmutation…
3. I was thinking Cordelia’s last task was the rid the house of Spalding, but that wasn’t it. (It was to deal with her Mother.) I guess he’s just going to haunt the place, and some people can see him and other’s can’t. And he still has that baby…so…yea, I don’t know. Of course, we also know that now “The Help” (who is alive) is Kyle. Interesting, how things work out.

4. Of course Fiona wasn’t dead. I doubt anyone thought she really was. We learned exactly how she faked her death. And she betrayed The Axeman by hoping he’d be killed…which he was. But, his heaven (and her hell? or her promise?) ended up being in a little cabin with him for eternity, fishing and living within walls of knotty pine.
5. It seems like a lot of episodes were full of filler, and not enough questions had answers. A lot of things were raised and never followed up upon. Despite this lack of continuity and relevance, the ‘American Horror Story: Coven’ remains a smartly entertaining series that was compelling, eerie, and addictive.

6. A lot of girls have shown up (instinctively in all black?) to be let into the school. But are all of them truly witches? The Coven goes public under Cordelia’s reign, which would make for a really fun follow-up season to ‘Cove
7. Some people expected a really upsetting finale, with all the witches (but Fiona) slaughtered. (I certainly expected that.) But in the very end, after all the weird WEIRD WEIRD stuff we had during this season…we had a smiling Sara Paulson. It was emotional and powerful. But are you satisfied, too?
MISC NOTES
- Is Cordelia’s e-mail real? How badly do you wish you could go to a school like that? I e-mailed her. Cordelia@RobichauxAcademy.com. What about the phone number? “504 444 0186”
- Cordelia made Queenie jazzercise. Um. LOVED that. Plus, her little giggle? So cute.
- Were you waiting and waiting for Fiona to stab Cordelia during their prolonged hug?
- Anyone else think Fiona would bodyswap with Cordelia or Zoe to live on? (Maybe I’m watching too much ‘The Vampire Diaries’…)
- Emma Roberts and Evan Peters are engaged. And on screen he got to choke her to death. Uh. Yikes?
Best Quote of the Episode: “Balenciaga!” (Myrtle Snow’s last words? I couldn’t make it out. Funny if that was.)
