Alex Da Silva, choreographer for “So You Think You Can Dance” on FOX, has been charged with sexually assaulting four women. He is being held on a $6.2 million bond and is going to be arraigned on Thursday.
The sexual assaults allegedly happened between August 2002 and March of this year. They include four counts of rape, two counts of assault with intent to commit rape and two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object.
Da Silva was accused of these crimes in 2002, when three women accused him of sexual assault but no charges were filed. A fourth woman came forward this year, accusing him of rape. Her descriptions matched the accounts of the previous three accusers and the case was reopened.
Da Silva worked most recently on “So You Think You Can Dance” in season 4, when he choreographed both an Argentine Tango and a Salsa for Chelsie Hightower and Mark Kanemura (below)
The sixth season of “So You Think You Can Dance” premieres this fall on FOX.
