The A&E hit show Hoarders will be premiering on November 30th at 10 pm EST/PST. The show delves into the world of people who are serious hoarders, to the point where it’s ruining their lives. But it’s not about exploitation. The show has experts who help these people, including Augustine.
Augustine is a hoarder who goes without water, gas and heat (while we can barely manage going without WiFi). With the city ready to condemn her house, Augustine’s son Jason (who was removed from the house by Child Protective Services 14 years ago) is ready to try to reconnect with his mother one more time to try and get through to her.
Hoarders on A&E explores the world of extreme hoarding; a mental disorder marked by an obsessive need to collect things, even if the items are worthless, hazardous or unsanitary. The series takes a fascinating look at the lives of people whose inability to part with their belongings is so out of control that they are on the verge of a personal crisis. Whether they’re facing eviction, the loss of their children, jail time, or divorce, they are all desperately in need of help.
Should we overlook the small pet-peeves other members of our household have when it comes to being dirty and saving things, or is that just the first step towards a decline?
A&E’s 2009 Emmy Award-winner for Outstanding Reality Program Intervention will return for a new season also on Monday, November 30th at 9:00 PM ET/PT.
