Posthumous Emmy nominee Farrah Fawcett

The nominees have been announced for the 2009 Emmy Awards. Surprisingly, “Family Guy” will compete for Best Comedy, which is only the second time a cartoon has been nominated (the first was “The Flintstones” in 1961). “30 Rock” leads all shows with 22 nominations, the most for a comedy in Emmy history. Finally, Farrah Fawcett was nominated posthumously for her work on the documentary “Farrah’s Story.” See all nominees after the jump.

True Blood and The Shield were shut out completely, while ER, Boston Legal, Desperate Housewives and Battlestar Galactica were not nominated for any major awards.
